Join our Elevate team to be part of the transformation to the next generation of student services computing at the University of Maryland (UMD). We are seeking an experienced professional to serve as a Training Developer Specialist for the Elevate team.
This role designs and develops high-quality training content, including e-learning modules, user guides, presentations, microlearning videos.
The Training Developer Specialist receives direct supervision from the Training Lead but is expected to work across the Elevate team as necessary.
**This position is considered essential and may be required to work at the normal work location or an alternative location during a major catastrophic event, weather emergency, or other operational emergency to help maintain the continuity of University services.**
**May be required to work evenings, nights, weekends, or different shifts for extended periods.**

Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
Experience: Three (3) years of experience in related field.
Other: Additional work experience as defined above may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for up to four (4) years of the required education.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of organizational principles and time management practices.
- Skill in project management, including planning, coordinating, tracking progress, and ensuring successful completion of initiatives within established timelines.
- Skill in verbal and written communication to clearly convey information, prepare correspondence, and interact effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to analyze complex information, identify issues, and evaluate options.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to maintain a high level of attention to detail.
Preferences:
- Ability to operate effectively within a larger project workstream, contributing independently while collaborating closely with other training developers and project team members.
- Prior experience working within a highereducation environment (institutional, consulting, or system implementation) is strongly preferred.
- Experience developing storyboards, and designing and authoring training materials such as user guides, presentations, e-learning modules, etc.
- Demonstrated facilitation skills, capable of delivering complex, technical information to a broad range of audiences.
- Familiarity with Workday or similar large enterprise systems.
- Collaborative and detailoriented, with the ability to work effectively with project team members and campus stakeholders in fastmoving environments.
- Experience with tools including Camtasia, Articulate, and Snag-it.
Additional Information: Please note that all positions within the Division of Information Technology (DIT) have an in person component with expected time in our College Park, MD location per week. Telework is not a guaranteed work arrangement.
Physical Demands: Normal office environment – Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negotiable amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. Ability to travel around campus for meetings and to attend to duties.
